What you need to know...
If you are looking for wheelchair hire but need a heavy duty or 'bariatric' wheelchair, we can offer a self-propel wheelchair for hire. Self propel wheelchairs have larger 'bicycle style' wheels at the back with a large hoop fixed on the outside. This hoop is to enable the user to propel themselves without the need for anyone to push them.
Self propel wheelchairs can still be used as an attendant push wheelchair, but they don't have brake controls on the handle grips. Our self propel wheelchair has quick release rear wheels to make transportation easier.
The locking or parking brakes can still be applied when stationery. If you are intending to push the wheelchair user, an attendant push wheelchair or transit wheelchair but don't need such a heavy duty wheelchair they can be found here
